Gavin McKenzie

Gavin began his career as a Digital Playback Technician, where he was first exposed to the world of visual effects. After retraining as a Compositor, he joined Framestore in 2012.

Since being at Framestore, he has worked on a wide variety of projects, from Gravity, Wonder Woman 1984 and Paddington to Iron Man 3, and Thor: Ragnarok. He served as on-set Supervisor for the final season of His Dark Materials, where he collaborated closely with production VFX Supervisor Russell Dodgson and the show’s directorial talent.

More recently, Gavin lent his talents to Apple TV’s ambitious natural history series Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age, as an on-set VFX Supervisor. His outstanding skills earned him a VES Award win and BAFTA nomination for the series, which he credits as two of his proudest achievements. His latest project is Apex for Netflix.
