Gavin McKenzie

Gavin began his career as a Digital Playback Technician, where he was first exposed to the world of visual effects. After retraining as a Compositor, he joined Framestore in 2012. 

Since being at Framestore, he has worked on a wide variety of projects, from Gravity, Wonder Woman 1984 and Paddington to Iron Man 3, and Thor: Ragnarok. He served as on-set Supervisor for the final season of His Dark Materials, where he collaborated closely with production VFX Supervisor Russell Dodgson and the show’s directorial talent.

Gavin’s outstanding skills landed him a VES nomination for Thor: Ragnarok, which he credits as one of his proudest achievements. More recently, he lent his talents to IF, a family-friendly feature with a cast of animated imaginary friends, directed by John Krasinski, as well as the latest season of Prehistoric Planet for Apple.
