Jonathan joined Framestore in 2000 where he quickly demonstrated his talents as a compositor working on numerous projects, including V for Vendetta, Ridley Scott’s Kingdom of Heaven, X-Men: The Last Stand, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Alfonso Cuarón‘s Children of Men, The Golden Compass and Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.
As VFX Supervisor, Jonathan created a 19th Century world for Guy Richie’s Sherlock Holmes, the intricate environments and technical challenges of the Hell’s Gate sequence in James Cameron’s Avatar and breathed life into Aslan the CG lion in Michael Apted’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. He was also Framestore VFX Supervisor on Jonathan Liebesman’s Wrath of the Titans, Doug Liman’s Edge of Tomorrow, Captain America and Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel Studios, as well as being a key member of the Oscar-winning team delivering Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity. His relationship with Marvel Studios has led to supervising both Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. II, earning both BAFTA and Oscar nominations for his contribution to the films.
In 2020 Jonathan supervised Framestore's work on the latest Bond film No Time To Die and reunited with Director James Gunn as VFX Supervisor on The Suicide Squad. After a spell on Paul Feig's School For Good And Evil, he continues to explore fantasy realms in Jon M. Chu's Wicked.
