Wonka sees Framestore collaborating once again with Paul King, writer/director of the Paddington films, David Heyman, producer of Harry Potter, Gravity, Fantastic Beasts and Paddington, and producer Alexandra Derbyshire, the Paddington films. Our production side VFX Supervisor Graham Page alongside Framestore’s Pre Production Services, Art Department and VFX crews in London, Montreal and Mumbai have been giving life to delightful characters, sumptuous environments and added to the mix of magic and mayhem with eye-popping simulation work. 

Told with fabulous heart and humor, Wonka is the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.  Timothée Chalamet stars in the title role with Hugh Grant embodying an Oompa-Loompa, both are based on the extraordinary characters at the center of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl’s most iconic children’s book and one of the best-selling children’s books of all time.

This irresistibly vivid and inventive big screen spectacle will introduce audiences to a young Willy Wonka, chock-full of ideas and determined to change the world one delectable bite at a time.  

Wonka is set to hit the big screens on December 15th.
