João Sita
Two-time Emmy nominee João's career is a testament to his creativity, dynamism, and strategic foresight. His diverse credits span massive multi-location action franchises, including Jurassic World and Assassin's Creed, to the gritty reality of features like Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead where he seamlessly integrated actor Tig Notaro as a late, post-shoot addition. His talent for granular planning combined with the ability to pivot when unforeseen challenges arise have proven a particular strength in prestige TV, leading to Emmy-nominated work for Lost In Space.
João’s success is rooted not just in technical excellence but also in his ability to forge strong, trusting, and collaborative relationships with key creative leadership (DOP, production designers, practical FX). This methodology was crucial on projects like 2022’s Slumberland, which director Francis Lawrence described as a "huge and very complicated FX movie," requiring the VFX team to work "hand-in-glove" with all departments from previs through delivery.
Most recently, João delivered stunning visuals for the huge cinematic hit Deadpool & Wolverine and crafted stand-out world-building for the acclaimed first season of Jonathan Nolan's Fallout. He also led the VFX effort for the upcoming Netflix feature War Machine, and is currently in the world of Panem, lending his skills to the next Hunger Games.
