Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) embarks on a mission to solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction… but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.

No stranger to a space-set saga, Framestore’s visual effects teams have been lending their magic touch to Grace’s starship and the new species he encounters while trying to save the world. A delightful blend of CG and puppetry, Rocky displays Framestore’s signature style of character animation - thoughtful, nuanced, and likely to bring a tear to the eye.

Framestore’s 1100 visual effects shots drew on talent from their locations in London and Montreal, led by VFX Supervisors Stuart Penn and Robert Winter respectively, with support from the studio in Mumbai, and previsualisation from Framestore Pre-production Services led by Michael Zaman.

Project Hail Mary is in theaters and IMAX globally from 20 March.
