StoryBooked Season 2
It is easy to become lost in Season 2 of StoryBooked, NBTV’s original series developed for Marriott Traveler. Colorist Maria Carretero’s thoughtful eye, and Framestore’s seamless effects, bring to life whimsical scenes of travel and art.
‘Grading the films was a welcome challenge. Their length, the fast turnaround time, and the vast creative opportunity the project provided pushed me as a colorist to be more passionately artistic than ever before.’ says Maria.
Framestore partnered with NBTV Studios, director Shern Sharma and editor Alvaro Del Val, to draw out the stories’ dreamy mood through the grade. In the four episode series, each character’s story is introspective, expressing themselves by mixing the experience of travel with personal and authentic artistic expression. To communicate these journeys the grade needed to embody each individual state: surrounded by water, the sound of Morocco, the Mediterranean colors…
Subtle VFX and basic clean-up allowed for the seamless transitions necessary to aid editorial continuity and keep focus on the talent.
In addition to being featured online, the films will have a limited release in theaters across the United States, showing on 67 screens in 6 major cities.
