Mike McGee | Chief Creative Officer

As one of Framestore's founding members, Mike McGee's industry experience spans over 30 years. He has directed award-winning films for some of the UK's best-loved brands (including the BBC, Next and Robinsons) and his VFX credentials are no less impressive. He's supervised the visual effects on the BBC's Walking with Dinosaurs, feature films Nanny McPhee and Your Highness and ad campaigns for GE and ESPN.

Under his stewardship as Framestore’s Chief Creative Officer, Framestore has been intrinsically involved in a number of internationally acclaimed projects that push the boundaries of creative storytelling by harnessing new and emerging technology. One such project, a group VR experience entitled Field Trip to Mars, was the most awarded campaign at the 2016 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Mike is increasingly interested in exploring the narrative and entertainment potential of immersive, multi-platform technologies and location-based experiences in order to ensure that the company he co-founded 37 years ago continues to be regarded as a world leader when it comes to storytelling and innovation.

'Long Live the Prince' Kiyan Prince Foundation

Chief Creative Officer Mike McGee presents our work for the Kiyan Prince Foundation for Future Focus. Kiyan Prince, a football prodigy, tragically died after being stabbed at the age of 15 in May 2006 whilst trying to prevent another child from being bullied. Fifteen years later, we utilised our expertise in cutting-edge technology and AI to support a ground-breaking effort to bring Kiyan Prince back to life virtually, and to ultimately help raise awareness of knife-crime.
