Free Solo 360° a été créé en collaboration avec National Geographic ainsi que les cinéastes primés E. Chai Vasarhelyi et Jimmy Chin, qui ont réalisé le documentaire Free Solo, une œuvre très bien reçue par la critique. Le film relate l’expérience du grimpeur en solo intégral Alex Honnold alors qu’il se prépare à accomplir le rêve de sa vie : grimper sur la surface de la paroi rocheuse la plus célèbre au monde, El Capitan au parc national de Yosemite, haute de 3200 pieds… et cela, sans corde ni aucun équipement de protection.
