François Dumoulin
François is a seasoned creative leader with a career defined by a sophisticated eye for image composition and a mastery of large-scale, technically complex productions. He is currently serving as the Production VFX Supervisor for Heart of the Beast, reuniting Brad Pitt and director David Ayer.
His recent portfolio includes leading the visual language for Greta Gerwig’s global phenomenon Barbie, where he managed the second unit shoot and devised methodologies for the film's distinctive aesthetic. François’s ability to anchor fantastical worlds in technical realism was further demonstrated on Apple TV’s Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age, where he supervised sequences in extreme locations ranging from glaciers to remote steppes—work that earned him a VES Award and a BAFTA nomination.
With over 20 years of industry experience, François has held the role of VFX Supervisor on some of modern cinema's most acclaimed projects. His credits include Denis Villeneuve’s Oscar-nominated Dune, the immersive adaptation of The Sandman, and HBO’s Lovecraft Country, which earned him Emmy and VES Award nominations. Previously, his work on Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets was recognized with an Academy Award shortlist for Best Visual Effects.
