The film tells the story of Aza, a hearing-impaired girl who loves to dance and make statements through body language, despite not hearing the music. The narrative acts as a wider metaphor for African immigrants in Europe, forced to deal with the unknown upon their arrival, and the ensuing isolation felt as a new lifestyle overrides one's roots and background. The film was shot in Côte d'Ivoire in April 2018, with the directors and DoP, Steve Annis, paying particular attention to faithfully reflecting the environments in Abidjan.
