In a recent article for Digital Marketing News, Framestore was profiled by David Pring-Mill who talks about how VFX is used not just in blockbuster films but also in marketing. He spoke to Joint Head of CG Grant Walker about how Framestore recreated the face of Audrey Hepburn™ for the 2014 commercial for Galaxy/Dove chocolate and how technology has continued to develop since the iconic ad.
Grant spoke about how he recreated the iconic actor, saying: ‘we were essentially sculpting against reference materials instead of creating a scanned digital version of Audrey and using tracking software to guide the movements of that version.’ He also covered the role of technology today and whether ‘deepfakes’ will impact VFX.
David’s article also touches on the role CG plays in movies with Framestore’s VFX Supervisor Chris Lawrence also quoted talking about our work we did on Winnie the Pooh for last year’s Christopher Robin.
