DDB Chicago and Framestore's directing team David Mellor and Murray Butler have collaborated for the second installment of McDonald's Lemonaid. The team re-purposed the plates from the first spot, and animated completely new lip sync for our yellow hero. Working closely with Steve Schirripa (of Sopranos fame), who voiced the Lemon, the animation team filmed the voice record so that they could work his gestures into the animation.
"We had a very tight turnaround on this one" said David Mellor "But it feels very close to the original spot in terms of quality and execution. Steve was great to work with, and he did everything we asked of him at the record, which included blowing kisses and delivering his lines whilst chewing a straw!"
