Framestore have finished work on the Directors Cut of Jameson Hawk. Where the Hawk was more subtly implied in the on air version, Noam Murro's extended cut features Framestore's giant Hawk more prominently.
"The sequence where the Hawk picks up the Barrel was particularly tricky" said James Dick, CG lead on the job. "It was a big animation challenge to make this feel physically believable, especially as we had to cheat the scale relationship between bird, barrel and street. Finding the correct balance between grading the Hawk to fit into dark night scenes but also allowing the viewer to see him was difficult, but the compositors got the balance just right"
