The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the more iconic locations in America to shoot a commercial but also one of the toughest to get permission to shoot on. However, with the GEICO gecko/Hooper pairing NYC officials couldn't say no (rumour has it they turned down Will Smith with the Men in Black III crew a week earlier!).
Getting the gecko safely on the bridge was a serious challenge. Our stand-in gecko lost all five limbs due to the constant flow of foot traffic on a Saturday morning across the bridge and many hours were spent stabilizing the horrific vibrations from the traffic. When all was said and done both the bridge and the gecko looked a picture!
