Guinness in Campaign

23rd August 2012

Framestore's new global ad for Guinness with Somesuch & Co and Saatchi & Saatchi, celebrating the brand's founder Arthur, his featured in the latest edition of Campaign magazine, out August 24 (page 7). The campaign launched with a surreal spot showing a town preparing for Arthur's Day by daubing everything, from their faces to their homes, in inky paint in honour of the black stuff.

Simon Borne, who graded the commercial, said "it was a challenge to grade and at times difficult due to having to show dawn, day, dusk and night while maintaining and enhancing the soft colour palette and natural light. The excellent street casting and natural the rustic environment captured on film made it a real pleasure to grade, enabling me to bring out textures and tones setting a mood for a very up lifting commercial."

The beautiful looking spot, shot on 35mm film with anamorphic lenses in a remote Romanian village and with some extra licks of paint from us, will premiere on TV in Ireland on Sunday the 19th before being shown in 55 countries over the next three weeks. Campaign have a full breakdown of the campaign on their website, linked below.
