Visa 'FIFA Evolution'

Visa's World Cup warm-up sees a footie fan run across continents to get to South Africa in time for the big event; and he sheds some serious pounds on the way. Directed by Chris Palmer for Saatchi & Saatchi, all the action takes place as one seamless move – a long marathon run from left to right of screen – but the scenery and terrain behind is constantly changing, as is the footie fan’s weight.

 

The runner's dramatic weight loss was realised by filming three different actors of varying sizes. Framestore's Tom Sparks and Stephanie Mills dedicated nearly five weeks of Flame expertise to blending the scenes, replacing the actors' heads with the hero’s face and creating the crowds for the stadium.
