Gravity gets flipped on its head in this latest spot for Vonage. To illustrate the clarity of connection between the newest generation of Vonage telephone service, two individuals on different ends of the globe speak as if sharing the same space - only one of them is upside down.
The spot opens on an empty room when suddenly a phone rings and two men enter what seems like the same apartment. However, one enters walking on the ceiling. They meet at the nexus of the inverted rooms and press their heads together.
The result? A crystal clear cellular phone connection and a visually inventive twist on the laws of physics.
Karen was "a deceptively simple idea that proved very complex to shoot," said Flame lead Murray Butler. "We shot each "world" the right way up and then had to flip our "upside down" plate in post, ensuring that each actor hit the right mark so they could join together at precisely the right place when combined."
Careful Flame work creates the illusion that the worlds are seamless but also feel like two different places while clever visual imagery and strict attention to detail creates a final spot that defies the very laws of gravity.
