Bogey, set in the Nevada desert, shows off Top Gun style F22 Raptors against a magnificent landscape. Butler and Hulin directed a previz at Framestore to help them shoot the plates in the desert. "The location we chose made it easy to get great looking plates. It needed to feel like Road Runner country, but we like the geological variety of the Valley of Fire. The whole spot is a tip of the hat to the Chuck Jones cartoons, but executed in a filmic style," says Hulin, "We were lucky enough to get one of the best helicopter pilots in the business for shooting all the plane to plane shots and aerial plates. In conjunction with the spacecam camera mount, we were able to shoot incredible plates." Back in the Flame suite, plates were stitched together to create even more epic shots to help accentuate the movement of the jets. All the jets and smoke trails were created in CG.
