We have just finished a nine spot package that launches the new HBO app. Shot by Tom Kuntz (MJZ) and edited by Steve Gandolfi (Cut & Run) the spots are a combination of great comedy dialogue and amazing casting.
It is great working on stuff that really makes everyone laugh and the writing stood out from day one. The main VFX challenge was creating a CG crowd in Underdog, then sky replacements, background augmentation in the other spots. Tom got the subtlety of performance just right, these situations are so true to life and absolutely cringe-worthy.
