Framestore recently finished Gatorade Ball Girl for Element 79.  With over 2 million views on You Tube, reviews in Shoot and Boards Magazine, and a plug on the ‘Good Morning America’ show, people are definitely talking about this spectacular spot. Shot by Baker Smith (Harvest Films), Ball Girl features a professional slugger nearly making a home-run only to be caught out by a high jumping ball girl.

Lead Flame Artist, Maryanne Butler composited live action crowd plates to give the illusion of a major league game.  Multiple crowd groups were shot on a repeatable head, stabilized and tracked into the hero camera move. Using this method allowed the shooting of real baseball plays, with matching effect plates obtained afterwards. In addition to filling an entire stadium, Framestore had to create anonymity for the players and the ball park with a lot of logo removal.  The girl's rig and harness were removed and the ball was added in CGI.
