BBH and Smuggler’s Guy Shelmerdine have given us, with a fair dollop of help from Framestore, an insight into family hierarchy by being a fly-on-the-wall at a breakfast. The ad’s apparent simplicity belies a significant amount of VFX work.
Each family member is stocking up on Weetabix’s ‘slow release energy’ to prepare them for the rigours of the day ahead. They compete for who’s got the hardest day, but there can only be one winner... a toddler who needs all his energy for annihilation and screaming.
To perfect the narrative, Framestore enhanced bowl sizes, added more Weetabix biscuits and repositioned table items. The VFX team – led by Tim Osborne – also took great delight in helping the toddler create his trail of destruction. The naturalistic grade was crafted by Stefan Perry and Dave Ludlam.
