Pirate is part of an ongoing Canadian campaign, with a beautifully judged 60s feel to it. Shot in Marseille, the spot was directed by Bryan Buckley for Mother London, with Framestore VFX Supervisor Marcello Pasqualino attending the shoot.
Steffan Perry, Senior Colourist, used highly stylised reference stills to give the commercial its individual textured grade. Post included cleaning up the underwater rig, 'de-modernising' wide shots of the square, matte painting background plates and applying authentic filmic 'scratches'.
