Nationwide 'Little Britain'

FRAMESTORE GETS FUNNY WITH LITTLE BRITAIN FORE NATIONWIDE

Framestore has teamed up with Spank and Leagas Delaney to create a Nationwide campaign based on Little Britain’s best loved characters – Lou and Andy, Vicky Pollard and the 'I'm a Lady' gents'. Directed by Steve Bendelack at Spank, the spots see Vicky Pollard asking for chips at the building society counter; the badly cross-dressed lads asking for a ladies-only bank account; and last but not least the final outing sees Lou and Andy stumble across a Nationwide-sponsored England team training session where Lou asks Fabio Capello to sign Andy’s tee-shirt whilst Andy performs a stunning footie somersault behind him.

Framestore's Paul O'Brien worked across the three spots in Smoke and Flame, with the Lou and Andy sketch requiring the most post. Framestore's Iceland office created Andy's ball in CG and his somersault rig was removed by Jonathan Hairman, who had to put in several days’ of frame-by-frame hand-painting to account for the excruciatingly loud and geeky pattern on Andy's jumper.
