Kasabian 'Vlad the Impaler'

We recently completed work on this viral promo for Kasabian's new track 'Vlad The Impaler', starring Noel Fielding and directed by Richard Ayoade through Warp Films. The video was available with the track exclusively online via download for a limited period, and has been extremely popular.

The idea was for the film to feel like a late 70s horror movie, and the authenticity of the picture was achieved first in the grade, with Telecine Colourist Dave Ludlam and then in a Smoke, with VFX Artist Alix Smith, where all of the neg dirt, scratches and VFX were applied, to fantastic effect. The schedule was very tight, but achievable, with the entire job being turned around in a week, including shoot, edit, grade, and VFX. The title cards were created by Bryan Lennon, and the promo was produced at Framestore by Executive Producer Simon Whalley.
